WORKSHOP IN THE BLUE MUSEUM







COOKING IS NOT AN ADULT ACTIVITY THAT ONLY PARENTS OR GRANDPARENTS DO AT HOME. 

COOKING MUST BE PRESENT IN ALL AGE GRORPS FROM CHILDREN TO ELDER PEOPLE.

THERE ARE THOUSANDS OF HEALTHY EASY RECIPES THAT TEENAGERS CAN USE AND FOLLOW. THESE RECIPES DEMONSTRATE THAT COOKING IS NOT DIFFICULT FOR THEM.

We decided to organize a trip to Barcelona and take part in some activities proposed by the health department of a governmental entity called Diputació de Barcelona. They organized a workshop for us where students learnt tips about how to follow a healthy diet. They were also given easy recipes that they had to prepare. The aim of the workshop was to demonstrate that teenagers can cook really tasty dishes.

 We want to share two of the recipes that we cooked during that day.







STARTER /1ST COURSE:
TABULE 



INGREDIENTS FOR 2 PEOPLE
160g cuscus (8 soupspoons)
100g parsley
200g ripe tomatoes
50g mint
120g lemon (2 pieces)
120g onion (2 pieces)
Olive oil (4 soupspoons)
Salt
Thyme, pepper, cinnamon (a pinch of each)

UTENSILS
A soupspoon, a bowl, a knife and a board to cut the different ingredients.


           
PREPARATION
Put the cuscus in water to hydrate a little and strain it after a while.
Add the lemon juice and keep it away.
Wash, strain and cut the parsley and the mint into very little thin pieces.
Wash the tomatoes and chop them. Add the thyme, pepper and cinnamon.
Mix all the ingredients together and add olive oil.
Keep the mixture in the fridge for a while before you eat it.

MORE IDEAS
Serve on a small plate or on a leave of lettuce
Vary the species depending on your liking
Use other vegetables if you want, for example pepper, cucumber, asparagus, courgette…




2nd COURSE:
BEEF WITH AUBERGINE AND MUSHROOMS 







INGREDIENTS FOR 2 PEOPLE
250g of beef
200g of aubergine
200g of mushrooms
20g olive oil
Salt
A branch of thyme, garlic



UTENSILS
A griddle, a frying pan, tongs and a board to cut the different ingredients.


             

PREPARATION
Put the mushrooms in a frying pan and cook them with oil for 5 minutes. Just before you take them out, add salt and garlic.
Wash and slice the aubergine, cook the slices on the griddle until they the slices are a little brown.
Put the beef on the griddle and cook until brown.
Add salt and thyme before you take the steak out of the griddle.

MORE IDEAS
Serve the dish with the steak on a bed of aubergine, and add oil. Put the mushrooms on one side of the dish.
You can change the beef for chicken, lamb , pork...
